Those photos bring back memories. I love Smythson's of Bond Street and Fenwicks is my all time favourite store after John Lewis!I can't believe how empty Oxford Street looks. You must have taken that photo quite late in the day!

Jewellery shops are closed, their window displays stripped
and jewels in safe keeping
but elsewhere the windows are full of glitz
and desirable objects
