Asia House fair

Lovely textiles from India, Japan, Indonesia and elsewhere; some jewellery; and lacquer from Vietnam and Cambodia - plenty of interest, and traders happy to talk about sources, techniques, production - at the Asia House fair last weekend.
Among my favourites - these double-weave scarves by taran taaran -
a silken dragon embroidered on thick, shiny indigo-dyed fabric, next to the sheerest fabric with gold woven in -
At Joss Graham's stand, akantha scarf made of two layers of silk - yellow thread in the white areas of the shibori side, and red in the blue areas, making a pattern on the plain side - simple and beautiful -
