One way of looking at books is as containers. What happens, then, when parts of that container become a different sort of container - or, a stand-in for what is contained?
This "container" is by Susana Mortimer - it uses a composite doll body from the 1900s to create a paper cast with pages from two books, ‘The Greek Commonwealth in the 5thCentury’ and ‘Strangelands’, Tracey Emin's autobiography. The work looks at the idea of cultural identities being exploited and used as means of propaganda and social control. Read more here.
