Short bio here

Tuesday is Drawing Day - why not join in, wherever you are, any or every Tuesday? Find somewhere that has interesting things - it needn't be a museum, it could be your own home! - and just draw, using whatever media you want. Ask some friends to join you, then have a nice lunch.

The London group has grown to the point where it's getting difficult to find a cafe table large enough, and reluctantly I must say that it is no longer open to new members.
6 March - Natural History Museum (pm; meet in cafe behind/under the main stairs at 3.30)

13 March - Southwark Cathedral

20 March - Maritime Museum (or Queens House)

27 March - St Pancras Station (or British Library) - meet at corner cafe near champagne bar, upstairs at St Pancras

3 April - Royal Festival Hall - meet outside the Poetry Library

10 April - Chelsea Pensioners Museum (chelsea-pensioners.co.uk/rhc-museum) or National Army Museum; meet in Army Museum cafe

17 April - British Museum, rooms 90 and 91 (picnic lunch if weather is fine?)

24 April - Docklands Museum (or outdoor area)

I had work in "A Letter in Mind" at the Oxo Gallery, September 2017.

"On the edge of silence" was part of CQ's "On the Edge" touring exhibition.

"Suturing", which was part of the Prescriptions exhibition, Beaney House of Art and Knowledge, Canterbury, is now in the Beaney's library collection.

"The Daily Round" was shown in Threads - Contemporary Textiles Open at Salisbury Art Centre , 1 Oct to 12 Nov 2016

Published on BMJ Blogs - "Suffering for Art" - exhibition "Black & Blue" by Penny Clayden and Chris Day, at Free Space Gallery, Kentish Town Health Centre

"At the Edge of the Quilt", in Through Our Hands magazine:
"The Stitched Drawings of Georgie Meadows", May 2015 (pp 42-47, issue 4)
"Textile Taxidermy", November 2014 (issue 3)
"Colour me unusual" [Anna Dumitriu], August 2014 (issue 2; adapted for BMJ Blogs, published online 24 October 2014);
"Joe Cunningham's quilts", May 2014 (issue 1)

My most recent article on Ragged Cloth Cafe is "White gloves at the ready!" - the issues involved in getting people to steward at large quilt shows.

Showing online: "Walking the Museum Maze" was part of "Inspired by ..." at Morley Gallery (May-June 2014). The exhibition catalogue is online via the gallery's website.
"The Moth's Journey" (2001) was part of the Quiltart Straight and Narrow Challenge.

Quote of the moment:
"I think women are foolish to pretend they are equal to men, they are far superior and always have been. Whatever you give a woman, she will make greater. If you give her sperm, she'll give you a baby. If you give her a house, she'll give you a home. If you give her groceries, she'll give you a meal. If you give her a smile, she'll give you her heart. She multiplies and enlarges what is given to her. So, if you give her any crap, be prepared to receive a ton of shit!

Sir William Golding
