En passant

You know how it is - you're looking for something on the web, and come across other interesting stuff... I've been looking at this site, which presents a variety of art works with the minimum of information.

This painting by Avery Preesman speaks to me in its use of dark colours, restrained texture, simple shapes; the different directions of the lines, and qualities of those lines; a certain mysteriousness... It feeds into my experimentation with graphite -
His paintings have been called "experientially generous". He is self-taught, and also makes sculpture.
